Digital Signal Processing
  1. Introduction to basic elements of DSP systems, Advantages of Digital over Analog Signal Processing, multi channel and multidimensional signals, continuous vs. discrete time and discrete valued signals, concept of frequency in discrete time signals. A/D and D/A conversions. Sampling theory, Aliasing, Quantization and coding. Application of DSP: radar, sonar, biomed, communications, speech and image processing
  2. Review of discrete time systems, Linear and Circular Convolution, Correlation and Auto Correlation
  3. Discrete Fourier transform- Its properties and applications, efficient computation of DFT- fast Fourier Transform algorithms, direct computation, divide-conquer approach, radix-2 FFT, Radix-4 FFT, divide in time and divide in frequency algorithms.
  4. Digital filter realization: Principle of digital filter realization, structures of All-zero filters. Design of FIR (Finite impulse response) filters, linear phase, windowing method, Rectangular, Berlitt, Hanning, Hamming, Kaiser and Blackman windows. Introduction to frequency sampling methods
  5. Design of infinite impulse response filters (IIR) from analog filters. Bilinear transformation, elliptic filters. Optimization method of IIR filters.
  6. Introduction to linear prediction, power spectrum estimation and multirate digital signal processing.
